The guys are nice, but so are Delboy and Rodney, doesn't mean you want to learn to drive with them? There were 3 issues for me - one was the retest fee, I failed my B+E test, totally my fault, but I was horrified to find the instructor time allocated to a retest is bumped up by 50%. A one and a half day course inc test is 385, but a half day course (2 hour lesson and test) is 268.
When you subtract the 115 test fee thats 150 for 2 hours of lessons and the time you have to pay for the instructor to sit and wait in the test centre during the test. When compairing costs with other instructors you need to check retest fees. The second issue was that the instructor answered his phone whilst I was driving, at the time I wasn't sure but suspected that to be illigal, Ive since checked and yes it is!
The third issue was that I was told I could put L plates on my car and caravan and anyone with B+E on their licence including my parents could supervise me. This is not true. Grandfather rights do not cover supervising! I checked this out otherwise the advise of my qualified instructor could have got me 6 points and a big fine. Like I say the team seem nice, just but I regret goin with the cheapest driving school in the area.
