My review is about The AA Driving School. First, it's very difficult to get lessons set up through this company, as they are very unresponsive. Second, my assigned instructor wasn't interested in teaching me to drive, he was more interested in talking about food, about how his students constantly fail the driving test (big red flag!), and, most worryingly, my looks.
Do men understand how uncomfortable and how unsafe a female may feel when a man is making inappropriate comments about their looks whilst they are in a car alone with them? Seriously. Don't do this! You are not being nice, you are making a woman feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I hired a new instructor, took two lessons with him, and passed my test the first time.
I wouldn't bother with The AA. Totally inappropriate instructors and a complete waste of money. Men should not make any comments about a females looks whilst in a professional setting. No excuses! (I would advise mums and dads who opt to hire The AA for their young drivers to insist on a female driver for their female children. But honestly, why use The AA at all?)

My AA membership is up for renewal, if I was daft enough to have signed up for automatic renewal I would have been charged 248.00. I can join online today for 169.00! As a loyal customer for 10years I should NOT have to search the best deal, the AA should OFFER me the best deal! They do not allow you to spk directly to the Complaints dept but they very kindly say they will respond within EIGHT weeks.maybe due to number of Complaints then! Call centre operative was great but AA procedure AWFUL!

I took out an insurance policy for my wife's car and was paying for the policy, I also had a breakdown cover for the vehicle. We never claimed anything, nor used the breakdown service, the insurance policy and breakdown cover was increased substantially and they sent out a letter informing us that the policy's were automatically going to renew. So I called to cancell them.
I endured two long wait phone calls with a ridiculously long recorded message followed by a long wait. When I got through to cancell the policy they refused to deal with me as I was not the policy holder. No real need to throw all this red tape at their customers other than to tie you into continuing cover with them, we never asked for an automatic renwal. Will never use them again.

I had car insurance with the AA then switched it at renewal time to go with someone cheaper. A month ago, out of the blue, I received a letter from the AA explaining to me that they had accidentally registered on my credit file that I had defaulted on all of my payments for the last 11 months and only discovered the mistake they had made because of a recent audit. Apparently they're very sorry for any problems they may have caused me. I'm also very sorry because I'm currently finding it very difficult to get a mortgage.

Avoid at all bunch of inept charlatans! Left us, a family with 5 month old twins and a 9 year old in a services car park after towing us there off the m6, for 7 hours! It would have been 9 hours if they'd had their way. Kept calling them n telling them we needed baby food for the twins and to hurry up. The AA kept telling us it'll be another 2 hours.then another 2 hours!
Every time u call then u r on hold for at least half an hour. One woman at the AA even told us to get the twins a McDonald's or Costa! Had to eventually organise our own tow truck n someone to collect the family. The AA should stop taking on new customers if they haven't got the manpower to fulfil the contracts they already have! I'll be leaving them ASAP. Would put no stars if I could.

My current provider turned out to be useless on a previous small issue so signed up with AA due to an offer I had from a recent car purchase. Signup was long winded, it should have taken a few minutes but I had to repeat everything multiple times online, then on the phone. My CT wouldn't start, Lexus wasn't helpful so used the ap to report a problem.
The ap is great, Paul was with me within 30 minutes, he was polite, clear, helpful, fixed the issue and then stuck around for a bit to ensure everything was sorted. I wanted to pass on the positive feedback about my experience but the system to do so is terrible. Ap is great Paul was great signup and the general user experience is poor.

They are absolutely hopeless with dealing with insurance claims and complaints. Their agent was rude and they should not be allowed to deal with insurance, could do with shutting down completely in my views, Disgusting and overpriced shoddy service. You have been warned. DONT USE AA for car insurance.
