The term MAM is the Maximum Authorised Mass which can usually be found on the vehicle registration document and trailer handbook. This information can also be found on the chassis or body of the two vehicles. When a car is attached to a trailer then the MAM is the total permitted weight of the vehicle combination. You can drive an outfit with a combined MAM of 8.25 tonnes. Go to view-driving-licence to check your permissions. You should not exceed the towing vehicle's train weight, see VIN plate usually under bonnet or inside a door jamb.

This has been a quick change to the testing system in order to increase availability for providing much-needed truck driver testing so everything is in a state of flux at this time. Until the law changes later in Autumn 2021 you must continue to follow existing licence rules about what you can tow based on when you passed your car driving licence.
If you passed your test in 1997 or later or you have settled in this country from a non-European Community country, you will not have the D1 group on your licence. Check this out by looking at the bottom of your plastic driving licence. You will need this group if you want to drive a minibus. This walk-through will allow you to pass the minibus tests with the minimum of fuss.
I am registered as an instructor with local authorities but Clients take training with me because of my reputation. The taxi test lasts about 40 minutes. You do not have to display 'L' plates but an extra rear view mirror should be provided for the examiner. You will need to demonstrate the use of wheelchair ramp and clamps but if your vehicle is not equipped for this, you can be assessed on this separately. If you have not taken the theory test you must be prepared to answer questions on the driving test and other motoring matters.
We use the BMW 120D SE. This is BMW?s smallest car and has rear wheeled drive. With an abundance of air bags and a full score in European safety tests we keep our clients safe. A prominent?start? Since the car is rear wheel drive, the gear lever connects directly on to the gear box. This ensures that the gear lever moves precisely without the springiness sometimes associated with conventional front wheel drive. Gear changes should be much easier. The gearbox has synchromesh on all six forward gears. Reverse also has synchromesh.
