Peter Wiles Driver Training is an independent school based in Hebburn, offering a range of structured driving lessons and courses tailored to the need of the individual pupil. Complete Beginner
As a complete novice you will no doubt be nervous, and a bit anxious, but don't let that stop you. If you are over 17? and got your provisional licence? start your lessons now. Following the standards set by the DSA in driving skills development you will be taught at your own pace, no matter how slow you want to take it. This will allow your confidence to grow as your ability develops. Before you know it, you'll be on your way to sitting your driving test and with Peter Wiles Driver Training you will find the whole learning experience quite enjoyable.
Pass Plus
Pass Plus is a 6 module training course developed by DSA to further develop the skills and knowledge of newly qualified drivers and broaden their driving experience. Pass Plus is more then just a few more driving lessons. It will give you further diving experience under expert tuition on how to deal with situation you may not have faced before such as driving in motorways, adverse weather conditions or driving in dark. Generous discounts on car insurances are available for many major insurance companies for those completing pass plus.
Partly trained Driver
Sometimes after taking a few lessons you may wish to change your instructor. As a partially trained student, you will first be assessed for your level of driving skills and a course of lessons will be tailored to take you from your current standard right through to your test.
Defensive Driving / Refresher course
A full license holder sometimes ask for a refresher course for a variety of reasons. Maybe an accident has made you reassess your driving skills, or you may be returning to driving after a gap. Refresher courses are designed to help you gain the confidence of town driving, polishing up on manoeuveres and driving in adverse weather conditions. Defensive driving courses are tailored to suit the needs of individuals in helping them become a much more confident and relaxed drivers.
Test re-take
I can help you to pass your driving test after a failure. I will book an assessment lesson first to see how many further lessons you may need.

I take 10 hr course with Peter and finally get the license since my first attempt! I am a foreigner here, used to drive previously but not so skilful, poor in English and know very few about Driving in the U.K. Peter give me a very clear explanation and fix my driving bad habit. My English is not so good and misunderstood all the time, but I think Peter is quite patient and explain to me over and over again. :)))

A fantastic instructor, I doubted myself and I was always reassured and filled with confidence. I enjoyed every second of my lessons and was made to feel at ease. Peter is a friendly, funny man and a brilliant effective instructor. I passed 1st time and would highly recommend lessons. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my lessons from the beginning. I was not looking forward to learning to drive, but straight away Peter made me feel comfortable and built up my confidence. When I finally plucked up the courage to learn to drive, I was really glad I rang Peter. He put me at ease straight away and I couldn't believe how quickly I progressed. I was also pregnant when I started to learn, so I wanted to try to pass before I had my baby. Thanks to Peter, I became the next in a line of his students to pass first time - a month before my little boy arrived. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Peter. The day I passed my test I was a little bit sad too - I knew I would miss our lessons!

Absolutely fantastic driving instructor, Peter made me feel relaxed and confident as I progressed and stayed calm throughout all my lessons, he was more than happy to answer any questions I had about the theory or practical parts of the driving test. I would like to say thanks again for getting me through my test first time with only one minor, what a result. Quality driving instructor, would highly recommend to anyone.

After my first lesson with Peter I felt completely at ease, he explained everything and stayed calm throughout my lessons. He helped me not only with my practical test but also with my theory test, answering any questions I had. He helped me pass my test and made feel very confident and safe on the roads. Peter is a fantastic instructor and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I would like to say a BIG thank you to Peter. I have just passed my driving test today for the first time and I couldnt have done it without Peters help. He is a fantastic driving insturctor, patient, understanding friendly but most of all made me feel completely at easy. He was great at reassuring me even when I thought I couldnt do it or struggling with something and I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to take driving lessons! Just passed my driving test with Peter. He is a calm and relaxed driving instructor with all the knowledge you need to pass first time. He adjusts methods so they suit you and your driving technique but keeps them so you pass. I passed first time with 2 minor faults, first time and also passed my theory test first time. He is affordable and flexible. Well recommended by myself. Thanks Peter

ABSOLUTLY BRILLIANT*** With the help and guidance Peter has given me I was able to achieve my Theory and Practical Tests first time. Passed first time with Peter in only 8/9 lessons!! Felt at home with him right away, he has a fantastic knowledge of the test routes, which without him showing me I don't think I would have passed. I was fortunate to choose Peter to revise my driving skills after a long layoff as I needed a patient but very competant instructor to calm my nerves and enable me to relearn roadcraft. After a course of lessons structured to build up my confidence I feel able to drive again safely and more confidently so thank you Peter.

I first started to drive with a different instructor but then was pleased. I then got Peter number, i thought ?45 for the first 5 lessons was great, so I tried it out! I felt like i learnt how to drive allover again! It was a great pleasure working with Peter, he is a great person, and a even better teacher! I would choose Peter again if i had to learn to drive again. I passed with only 4 minors, thats show you how great i was tought! I wouldn't of been able to do it with the support i got from him. BEST DRIVING INSTRUCTOR AROUND! To anyone who has no driving experience or know anything about cars then I highly recommend Peters driver training. Even for people who have driving experience, I would still advise you to take up Peter to take your lessons. When I first started my lessons, I did not know anything about cars or how they work, but that soon changed whilst working with Peter.
He gradully learned me how to drive at my own pace and introduced new things over the course of my lessons. Also, when I got onto my theory test, he provided me with lots of support and told me the best ways to revise for the test. After that we started looking at dates to book the practical test, which I have just passed now. I couldnt be happier with Peters training, and I definitely couldnt think of a better instructor that would suit me.
