Andrew Usher Driving School

I would recommend Andrew to anyone looking to learn to drive and pass the test. He is excellent, one of the best instructors in Oxford. I drove with other instructors, before I started taking lessons with him, with no success, it was a waste of time and money. You might find it slow at the start, but just stay with Andrew! His teaching is structured, he is following a very effective programme he's developed, which covers all aspects of the driving and road safety. Andrew will prepare you well for the driving part of test and for manoeuvring.

He will explain in detail and practise with you every aspect of each of the tested manoeuvres. I passed the test on the 1st attempt with him. Once you passed the test, you will start driving independently with confidence, because you were well trained!

I found Andrew to be a great teacher. I successfully passed my test on the first attempt. Andrew prepared me well for the test, but importantly he has made me a very confident driver he is an instructor who I would really recommend.

Very patient instructor and teaches you not just how to pass the test but also how to be a safe road user in the future. Prices are good and the lessons and thorough. I found Andrew very flexible with pick up points and cancellations and would recommend. Also, I passed my test first time so that speaks for itself!

As someone who was by no means a natural or confident driver, and who found all aspects of driving challenging, Andrew was unfailing patient and encouraging- he even put back his family holiday by a day to accommodate my test date!

Andrew is a superb instructor. If clutch control and a systematic approach to learning is what you're after, then he's your man. Andrew is a very patient and highly competent instructor. His approach is steady and systematic. If, like me, you're a complete beginner, Andrew will bring you to a point where you feel confident enough to tackle any situation on any road. Andrew is an incredible driving instructor. I've had other instructors in the past and none had made me feel as calm or capable as Andrew did. Not only does Andrew give you the skills and prepare you very well for passing your test he also focuses on providing you with the skills for after passing the test so you can be a calm, capable and safe driver once you have passed. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Andrew is a fantastic driving instructor. From my first lesson right up to passing my test he made sure he put me at ease. He's the first instructor I've had who has really focused on ensuring you're in control of the car and feel confident in what you're doing. Though it may seem like a slow process at first, once you master the basics with him you'll progress rapidly. An absolutely brilliant instructor and I can't recommend him highly enough!

Very nice person who brings a lot of confidence into your driving, never rushes you to do anything radical and makes driving (which for anyone taking lessons can be traumatic) pretty relaxing, preparing you for the real world! I'm very appreciative of his tutelage and would reccomend him to anyone nervous or lacking in confidence.
