At How-2-Drive we teach people just like you how to drive! But our driving school won't just teach you to pass your driving test - we'll set you up to become a safe driver for life. Do you have a son or daughter who wants to start driving this year? Or perhaps you have a loved one who's always been meaning to get their driving licence and just needs a nudge in the right direction?
Perhaps you want to pass your test more quickly, but would rather not take an intensive course? Or maybe you've already had tuition in a manual car and have decided to ditch the gears and the clutch for an easier drive? Automatic cars are perfect if you expect to do a lot of city driving where you'll be stopping and starting frequently.
If you don't have the time to take regular weekly lessons or need to pass by a certain date, going intensive could be the perfect solution for you. Our fast pass courses allow pupils to quickly gain momentum in their learning and take their test soon after. With the right trainer and the right course, this method of training can bring you up to test standard more quickly than weekly driving lessons.

Hi, I'm Howard founder of How-2-Drive. I set up my driving school in Norwich in 2009 to help people learn to drive and become responsible safe drivers. I have trained many people to become successful driving instructors through my instructor training programme. Many of these instructors go on to join the school with my flexible business franchise.

I would like to thank How-2-Drive especially to my instructor Wayne Bennett for helping me pass my Practical Driving Test. It was a long journey but i never gave up, neither did Wayne who helped me a lot achieve my goal. From the process of booking lessons, payments, and communication through Total Drive App, everything is smooth, hassle-free and above standard. I would like to thank Abdel Elaabdi for helping me pass my practical driving test yesterday. He is an amazing driving instructor who has helped me become a confident and safe driver. He was always calm, patient and we had many laughs on our lessons which definitely put me at ease. His adaptive teaching approach enabled us to work through areas that I needed to improve on very effectively. Certainly I couldn't have passed my test without him. Initially when I started out after a long break from driving I had lost all my confidence. Thanks to my instructor Kevin Bowkett who was extremely patient with me, I was able to build my confidence and pass today! He would ensure that everything we did I felt comfortable and gave me highly applicable advice for the driving test. Despite me being apprehensive he helped me believe in myself and my ability to drive.
I was so happy that we both got what we deserved as we both put in the hours and worked hard to achieve the pass certificate. I would highly recommend Kevin as an instructor!

Today I passed my 1st practical driving test with only 1 minor & I couldn't be happier! I wouldn't have been able to do it without my fantastic instructor, Alex Baker! My first lesson with Alex, he immediately put me at ease and was incredibly easy to get along with. He is calm, patient, doesn't dwell on mistakes and strives to make you not only a technically skilled driver but confident in your own abilities. So massive thanks Alex, you are AMAZING!

Amidst the pandemic, it only took one call for me to secure a booking to do my lesson with How to drive. Very quick call back ( 2 weeks) and customer service from the start. As for my amazing AD Instructor Peter Lawlor, can't thank him enough for guiding me since Day 1. Very patient in teaching, guiding me on every lesson and gave me massive confidence to pass the test first time. Lots of points, tips to take away now that I am going to be driving on my own. Highly recommend him & this company.

Chris Read has been a fantastic driving instructor, who helped me pass my test first time with only 2 minors. Chris R patiently fixed all of the bad driving habits I'd picked up from a previous batch of early lessons with a different instructor, and he was great at working with what I wanted to get out of each lesson. Chris R is amiable yet strict, and does a good job of picking up on little things that could add up to multiple minors in a test. Couldn't have done it without his help. Fully recommend!

Had a 2 hour refresher with Patrick today after not driving properly in around 5+ years, I was pretty shot of confidence and pretty anxious before the session started. However, Patrick was very thorough that I felt calm and relaxed. I was pretty astounded about how much better I felt about my driving after the session with Patrick, we covered a lot more than I thought we would and I was very pleased with the results, he was professional and above all a great guy, couldn't recommend him more!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning with How-2-Drive, and have highly recommended them to all of my other learner friends. I passed first try after learning with two instructors (Colin Phipps, and then Chris Drew). From the beginning, I found it super easy to sign up for lessons, and was pleasantly surprised to be given an instructor within a few days.
The app system also made it really easy to book lessons, and keep track of my progress, and also allowed me to see previous lessons and dates when needed. Passed my driving test first time because off my driving instructor Patrick! He was so profession, had a clean car, showed up on time or even a few minutes early to make sure we had full driving potential every lesson, and also made sure we was always safe. It was a lovely experience learning how to drive with someone who made me feel comfortable in the care, and someone i can get along with perfectly. I would not recommend anyone or any company more!

I had Wayne Bennett as my automatic driving instructor and the experience could not have been better! I passed first time with only 3 minors! He is patience personified and made me feel safe at all times during my lessons and I never saw myself as a "bad" student for messing things up. I was really afraid of driving and put off lessons for 15 years, but Wayne made me confident behind the wheel! 100% recommend!

How-2-Drive have been excellent. They are very professional, and their app allows you to book lessons and track your progress. My instructor John was amazing. He was a great teacher, but also always up for a laugh. Thanks to him, I passed first time with only a few minors. I would thoroughly recommend How-2-Drive, and I would especially recommend John as an instructor.

This review is for my amazing driving instructor Abdel Eelabdi from How-2-Drive. He is the most calm, patient and understanding person I ever met! He is a great teacher and always up for a laugh which made me very comfortable and I was always looking forward to have lessons with him! I would highly recommend Abdel as a driving instructor and can't thank him enough! It's an amazing feeling to pass FIRST time just before Christmas! Thank you for all your help!

Really fantastic driving school who can't do enough to support you with super professional instructors and fantastic tools. I chose to learn how to drive at the beginning of the pandemic and even through all the issues that caused they were extremely supportive throughout it all. In the end with the support of my instructor Leanne who really managed the identify and help me work through some of my issues with driving we ended up getting me passed my test first time with only one minor fault. I couldn't recommend them enough.

Proud to have passed my driving test with How-2-Drive. Rowland was my driving instructor and is a credit to the team. His friendly and patient character is exactly what I needed whenever my nerves got the better me. He would always arrive on time and his lessons were consistent and constructive. Howard is a genius, he works hard to prepare his pdi's for their exams and also so they can teach their students to the highest level. I personally, probably wouldn't have passed my part 3 if it wasn't for Howards videos on you tube, i had no ordit trainer after i did my 40hrs and wasn't on a trainee licence i just trained my daughter and her pal at weekends, i was a lorry driver, Howards videos taught me really how to pass the part 3, its the way he does it, very enjoyfull sometimes hilarious but very thorough. Would recommend How-2-drive to anyone who is serious about wanting to become a ADI. Cheers Howard thanks again. Scott.

I had a few driving instructors over the years which I didn't feel comfortable with. David foster is by far the best instructor I had been with, hes very good at what he do. Made me feel confident and comfortable around him. Which got me the pass I had wanted a long time ago. For that I'm very grateful.

Had an amazing experience leaning how to drive with how2drive. I looked forward 2 every single lesson with my brilliant instructor, Nick Sheppard of whom was really laid back, easy to talk to and an excellent driving instructor!!! I am thrilled to have passed and cannot thank Nick enough for helping me to do so; couldnt have asked for a better driving instructor! I highly recommend how2drive 4 anyone who wants a brilliant experience 2 remember aswell as a driving licence!

I had a great experience with How 2 Drive coming back to driving several years after failing my test the first couple of times round. I had lessons with John - who was friendly, supportive, accommodating, relaxed and professional and really helped me to build up my confidence again. I passed my test with flying colours! I really enjoyed our lessons and now feel so well equipped and confident to head out on the roads on my own. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Highly recommended company if anyone is in question on who to use for there lessons. Highly recommend Rowland as he will help you with every little bit and won’t rush you either and if you want to work on something in particular before your test, he will do that for you. A huge thank you to Blair who helped me pass my test today with 0 minors!! He helped me build my confidence up after I dreaded learning to drive and stayed patient with me throughout my lessons. He made me feel comfortable and always assured I understood what I was doing. It was especially helpful when he provided me with a form to fill out at the end of each session so I could think about what went well and what I had to improve on to help progress my driving!

Just passed my Part Three ADI Test!! Could not have done it without the excellent tuition and guidance from Howard Floyd of How-2-Drive. If you want to learn to drive or to become a driving instructor I cannot recommend this driving school highly enough.
