TLC Driving School is run by Tracey Satchell, a lady driving instructor with a patient, relaxed attitude that suits both nervous and confident drivers.Tracey is conscientous and makes detailed lesson plans for each student, ensuring that students drive on different routes for each lesson. Each lesson covers different types of real driving that sutdents will encouter in their test - rural driving, town centre driving, independent driving and dual-carriageway driving.
Tracey uses a modern, well-controlled Citroen C3 1.4 Diesel. This is a light, easy to manoeuvre car.
Tracey has a very flexible approach to her students and is willing to tailor the lesson lenght, and the lesson start and end locations, to the needs of each individual student.
Tracey is DSA-ADI (Driving Schools Approved - Actual Driving Instructor) and holds DIA (Driving Instructors' Association) public liability insurance. She is licensed to offer Pass Plus lessons.

I am a lady driving instructor offering high-quality driving lessons in the Thetford area. My approach is gentle, patient and relaxed to encourage learning, yet I structure each lesson carefully to let the pupil gain the maximum benefit from each lesson. I use up-to-date modern teaching techniques that involve real driving for the WHOLE lesson.
I pride myself on my calmness and relaxed attitude, which creates a good learning environment to optimise students' learning potential. I am extremely conscientious and use up-to-date, modern teaching techniques. I believe driving is a life skill as it will change your life once you pass your test, but I also see it as my job to teach learners to be safe for life after passing. Learning to drive can be costly, so my objective when teaching is to give good quality driving lessons at a pace the pupil can learn at.
Lessons include all of the types of driving that your driving test does - for example, town centre driving, rural driving and dual carriage-way driving. Lessons use roads in and around Bury St Edmunds - just as the driving test does. Rather than "wasting" a proportion of each lesson sitting by the side of the road learning theory, I point out theory and hazard perception issues as relevant during a lesson and advise students what learning materials to buy so that they can study at home.*This reduces the number of lessons needed as more time is spent on real driving.
During your free assessment lesson, I will discuss your goals and requirements, as well as the DSA guidelines for driving lessons, and over the next few lessons we can agree how many lessons you are likely to need. If you book a block of lessons and pass your test without using them all, I will be happy to offer a refund.

A fantastic driving instructor! Confident, patient and positive, Tracey made my driving lessons a huge success and I passed first time with 2 minors. Tracey fully prepares you to drive confidently and safely in any situation. She is understanding, reassuring, and will always find positives in your driving alongside constructive criticism which helps to make you the best possible driver.
She devotes all the time needed to make sure you are safe, well informed and prepared. When I began driving lessons I couldn't see the end- I thought I would never be able to drive without Tracey next to me- I am now confident and excited to be a driver! Thank you so much : highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Tracey's driving instruction enough! Firstly, she is a very helpful instructor. My knowledge of driving was built at a challenging but steady pace, and as an instructor she is very astute at recognising where a student is struggling and which driving techniques and manoeuvres need to be revised in better detail to build confidence into driving. Secondly, she is a very patient instructor, especially for nervous drivers lacking in confidence which I would say I definitely was at times! Finally, she is a very friendly instructor and easy to get along with - something which was not the case for my first driving instructor, and helped the overall learning process. If you live in the Thetford area and will be sitting a test in Bury St Edmunds, Tracey is definitely your best option!
