Pete Cowan is one of the highest qualified trainers in the area, holding RoSPA Gold, Fleet Diploma, and worked for many years with Lincs Police as a Senior Trainer in the Lincs Road Safety Partnership. Learning with the best may cost a little more per lesson, but the high chance of a first-time pass after as intensive a course as you can handle means you pay less in the long run.You also get results much quicker. It is our intention to equip you with the skills not only to pass the test, but also to go on to be a safe and confident driver. Top tuition is fun and rewarding. We offer tuition for Advanced Driving, Defensive Driving, Remedial and Refresher Courses, Motorway Tuition, Pass Plus, as well as Novice (L-Driver) Practical Courses and Theory Test support. After taking 4 driving tests unsuccessfully several years ago, this September I began driving again with Pete as my instructor.
I meet and drop clients free of charge from Lincoln and surrounding villages, as shown in the map. Full lesson duration begins when I meet you, and lessons will be one-to-one, with no one else in the car (unless you want to bring along an interpreter or supervisor that you drive with privately). If you are slightly outside this area, please do not hestiate to contact me to see if special arrangements can be made.
I run a Toyota Yaris D4D 5 door, which has a lively 90hp 1.4 diesel engine with turbocharger and inter-cooler, and alloy wheels. This stylish car is really easy to drive, and the diesel engine makes it difficult to stall which avoids frustration in early lessons. This excellent engine has such low carbon emissions that it falls into the zero tax band; and a dpf (diesel particulate filter) that catches any particles.

His hourly rate may not be the cheapest in town, but if his efficient and effective training enables you to pass 1st time with the minimum number of friendly enjoyable lessons, your overall cost may well be substantialy less than those employing instructors from the 'bargain basement' as well as being far quicker.
1 hour lessons don't allow for a good variety of routes. With the extra time we can explore all the test route areas, even visiting neighbouring towns perhaps. It also makes for really quick progress, as there is proportionately less settling-in time and shortens the courses a lot. We'd have time to do a Mock Test shortly before the real thing.

I started learning to drive with Pete back in September 2020. With a lack of confidence whilst driving to begin with, Pete was patient with me and made sure that the lessons were suited to what I was comfortable with. Great instructor, very professional and very nice to learn with and I love the way he teaches not like a boring teacher who just wants to get it over and done with, he really wants to help you get that pass the first time and I did ! I couldn't have done it without his great lessons,you learn lots every time you go out and its not hard to remember. A very clever man thank you again for helping me pass my test.
