Before you can get behind the wheel you'll need a provisional driving license. You will need a D1 form from your local post office in order to apply. The average waiting time is approx. 3 weeks. 2: Driving Theory Test. Book this as soon as you get your provisional license. In order to book your practical test you need to pass the theory first, so the quicker you book it the quicker you can move on.

Marco has been outstanding instructor, from the initial assessment of my driving skills, through very structured lessons, to the final outcome on the driving test - I passed the first time. Marco is the best driving instructor there is! He is calm, friendly and supportive, and has a genuine interest in you succeeding. Marco is an exceptional instructor! His patient and calm manner meant I could relax and focus on learning to drive. The encouragement and feedback after each lesson built my determination to pass. On the day of my test, I went in feeling prepared, confident and at ease which resulted in me passing first time with only one minor. Marco's teaching experience also gave me the skills to become a driver beyond taking the test. Marco is an excellent driving instructor and he helped me pass first time. What really helped me was that he was always calm and patient, and he made the lessons enjoyable (not always easy in Oxford rush-hour traffic!). I never thought I would be able to pass first time but he really boosted my confidence and was happy to explain things repeatedly if required. He really does care about you being a good driver, rather than just passing the test. Would highly recommend!

I feel really lucky to have been taught by Marco, he was always patient and made learning fun and straightforward! I have now passed and feel safe. He always made sure my lessons could fit around my job and the same for my test! I would recommend him to anyone - especially nervous drivers looking to gain confidence.

Marco is an excellent instructor, He makes driving fun and enjoyable. He takes the time with you on the lessons to make sure you are fully confident in each skill. There is never any pressure or nervousness in any of my lessons. He was committed to getting the full potential out of my driving. I passed first time all thanks to Marco! I was loosing confidence with my first unreliable instructor and beginning to think I would never get driving. When I found Marco online there was only about 4 days between then and my first lesson, before I was having to wait for up to two weeks for a lesson with my first instructor. I was taught by Marco for only a few months, but he covered everything thoroughly and at my pace with me that I would need to know to be a safe driver.
He was flexible with times and fitted my lessons around what suited me, was kind when I made many mistakes and ALWAYS encouraging. One of the first things Marco said to me In our first lesson was that it was my money and if at any point I did not feel satisfied by his teaching it was my choice to go elsewhere, however I always felt good in my lessons and the proof was in my passing first time! Marco is such a great instructor, calm and patient and commited to being the best teacher possible! I was quite nervous when I first started but he was so easy to get on with and great at explaining things I soon became comfortable and more confident with each lesson! Having failed to achieve a pass many years ago after many lessons with a different instructor, I finally returned to attempt once more a month ago. From the off Marco built my confidence, which had been knocked by my previous fails. He was methodical and professional in his approach, but more than this he was fun and a pleasure to drive with. He not only achieved what I believed to be the impossible (getting me to pass with NO minors) but also really made me enjoy driving.
And if the result doesn't speak enough for it self I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who wishes not only to pass their test but wants to feel a confident and safe driver after doing so.

I took my Pass Plus Course with Marco Polo. Not only did the course give me more confidence on the road, it also lowered my insurance premium. Marco is such a patient and calm person, he made the course fun. He gave me some great tips that I had never heard before. I was so glad I chose Marco Polo!!

After a bad experience with a driving instructor some years ago, I was very hesitant in choosing an instructor. However, I'm glad I discovered Marco. He was extremely patient and allowed the lessons to proceed at a pace I was comfortable with. He was very attentive identifying weaknesses to focus on in the next lesson and very focused on teaching how to drive well and safely, but at the same time making the lessons enjoyable.

Marco was a great driving instructor - highly recommend him! I already had an American license and Marco was great at providing the appropriate lessons for me,namely learning to drive manual and navigating UK roads.
