Manchester Driver Training

I learned how to drive an automatic car with Lee Ellis, and I passed first time today. It was a great experience learning from him, he was clearly very experienced, I felt very confident going into my test. He's not the sort of person who would put someone forward unless they were ready, he really believes in making sure learners are competent, not just barely capable of scraping through a test.

The lessons were well planned, had a logical structure, and he made sure things were practised until I was able to consistently do them correctly. He was really accommodating when my life circumstances changed, when I moved cities I travelled back specifically to continue learning with him. I would recommend learning with him to anyone. He's kind, easygoing, we had a great rapport.

I'm an anxious person, but he put me at ease. I'll be travelling back to do my Pass Plus with him too, really looking forward to it! It's almost a shame that my lessons are over, I enjoyed them very much.

Today I have passed my test from the first time. My instructor was Lee, and I really appreciate his help, commitment, accuracy, and precision. He always arrive before time and never been 1 minute late. His vehicle is always clean and ventilated. I would highly recommend him for any person who wants to learn on an automatic car. Nawaf

Firstly, I can't recommend Manchester Driver Training enough. If you're in Manchester, these guys should be your first port of call. 100%. I contacted them originally for a mock driving test as I had done quite a lot of independent driving in my partner's car and, with a test booked, I really wanted to see how far off I was from being test ready and what I needed to improve on.

They put me in touch with one of their instructors, John, who has honestly been the most helpful, informative and supportive person I've come across whilst learning to drive. Originally, I completed 12 or so hours with an instructor from another company but I really, really wish I had learnt with John from the start. Not only did he make me feel at ease in the car, which was a first for me with an instructor, but he gave me tips and advice that made things I'd previously struggled with (reverse bay park for example) literally foolproof.

In total, including my mock test, I probably only did 5 or so hours with John but even that short amount of time elevated my driving considerably, taught me things that had never even been mentioned by the other instructor I used (Bus Lanes!) and enabled me to pass first time. That I passed first time with only 2 minors, in itself, is a ringing endorsement for both John and the company but beyond that, he is a lovely, down to earth guy who really cares about the people he teaches.

I really can't thank him enough because I definitely wouldn't have passed without him. If you're looking for driving lessons, Manchester Driver Training is the place to go and if I can give a personal recommendation, ask for John, you won't regret it!

I had a great experience with Kam. He was a very patient and thorough teacher, helping me learn at my own pace, and making sure I mastered the basics before moving on to more advanced driving. He was also very accommodating with fitting in extra lessons ahead of my test. Thanks to his thorough prep I passed first time- highly recommend!

I would highly recommend automatic driving instructor lee Ellis as I passed my test first time with him. He is a fantastic instructor, very reliable, professional and friendly. He was recommended to me by my daughter who also passed with him first time. He helped build my confidence throughout my lessons, encouraging me every step of the way. Following passing my test I did the pass plus course with him which I have found really useful.

I had automatic refresher lessons with Lee and I cannot thank him enough for what he has taught me. He is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and funny! He is always on time and good at explaining things in a simple way. I got my license oversea and have never driven since my driving exam thus was very nervous when I first started, but he always remained calm even when I was panicking on the driver's seat in the middle of a busy road. I would wholeheartedly recommend John as a driving instructor! I am from the US and am an experienced driver there, but had never driven manual and didn't know UK rules of the road. I signed up for lessons with Manchester Driving Training. John was the perfect instructor - he was incredibly patient in coaching me on the gears, and tailored every lesson to fit my needs, which were different than a new learner.

Not only did I have to learn the gears, but also 'unlearn' the bad driving habits I had picked up over the years. John worked through every issue step-by-step, with patience, humour, and an impeccable knowledge of the Highway Code. He was very communicative and flexible, and very chatty and easygoing during lessons. Prior to the test, we did several practice tests, which flagged a few issues that I was able to work through. Happily I passed with only two minors, and would gladly recommend John to anyone seeking lessons.

I took both normal and pass plus Automatic lessons with Lee Ellis. He was an excellent instructor. My last attempt at driving was 12 years ago (a 4 week intensive course) and ended with me nearly changing lanes into another car on a driving test. This time I decided to do it properly. I opted for automatic lessons and never looked back. I had a great time with Lee. His lessons are logically structured, follow on from each other, and he provides a safe and enjoyable environment to learn. I would highly recommend!

John is an absolutely brilliant driving instructor. He took me on less than two weeks before my test date, and willingly put the extra time in needed to iron out my driving, which enabled me to pass first time. After having two poor experiences with driving instructors elsewhere, I was feeling a bit lost and demotivated about my driving. I got in touch with Manchester Driving school and spoke with David who was very efficient and friendly and had me assigned to a driving instructor and a lesson booked for that week.

Sher, my instructor, was amazing. He was so patient, so encouraging and my driving improved so quickly after i started having lessons with Sher.

I work away a lot in the week, so he was always willing to accommodate longer lessons on weekends which was great! He pretty much became like a father to me and helped me (someone who had lost the will to live with driving!) pass their test. 100% recommend

I recently passed after having automatic lessons with Lee. I would highly recommend him to anyone who feels nervous about learning to drive. Lee was friendly, always on-time, and I felt like I made progress every lesson-no matter how great or small. From WW2 to psychology, we spent my lessons discussing the weird and wonderful as well as the rules of the road-so there was never a dull moment! Now that I am driving by myself I am glad that Lee was so thorough in making me a confident AND competent driver.

My instructor Jon Lavery has had the patience of a saint whilst guiding me to pass my test on the second attempt. When I made mistakes he helped me remain calm and in the end taught me how to drive safely. He is very supportive and brilliant to get on with, he will be missed! Jon is an excellent driving instructor, I highly recommend him to anyone.

I had Kam as my instructor and I would very highly recommend him! He had a clear plan for each lesson which made it really easy to progress quickly. He was very patient and a great teacher. I passed my first time with only one minor thanks to him so don’t hesitate to start lessons with him!

I hadn't driven regularly in a few years and was feeling very rusty and unconfident, but my instructor John Paul was fantastic and had me road-ready in no time. In just a few short lessons he identified all of my problem areas, suggested constructive solutions and helped me get my confidence back in no time at all. I recently had some refresher lessons with Kam and couldn't recommend him more. I hadn't driven in 4 years since passing my test and needed to take some refresher classes to build my confidence before commuting for work. Kam was a very calming influence and got me feeling confident on the road in no time, he was also very flexible with classes and made sure we focused on specific aspects I felt less confident about.
